Although my youngest is now 27, I can still sing the theme music for the cartoon,“Caillou.” (KAI-oo). The upbeat song often accompanied me as I made a meal, checked my kids’ Friday Folders, or *glamorously* cleaned the bathroom.
Christine L’Heureux created Caillou based on French psychoanalyst Dr. Françoise Dolto’s work in child development, the foundation of which is, “respect for the child, as a person.” A wonderful way to celebrate the work of these two women, is through the legacy of Caillou as a conduit of kindness.
“Kindness via Caillou.”
The team at Kindness.org created Caillou videos and songs you can use with students to spread the love and encourage kindness:
February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day, and whether or not you are a Caillou fan, you can be a part of the movement to brighten anyone’s day by doing random acts of kindness in February, or better yet, any day of the year.
